Every course carries 50 internal marks alongside the End Semester Examination. How those 50
are split depends on the track the course sits in.

What each component means
- Test I
- A centralised examination for 100 marks covering the first three units of the syllabus. Question papers are prepared by the Office of the Controller of Examinations using the CoE software.
- Test II
- A centralised examination for 100 marks covering the last two units of the syllabus, prepared the same way.
- Attendance
- Downloaded from the Learning Management System and converted to marks on the slab opposite.
- Assignment
- A minimum of two topics set by the subject handling faculty and posted in the Learning Management System. Topics may come from the subject or from a general topic related to it.
- Seminar
- A minimum of one seminar per student, on a unique topic set by the subject handling faculty. The assignment topic may also be used as the seminar topic.
- Technical or creative
- Attend a seminar or conference, or win a prize in a technical event organised by an academic or research institution, and submit the certificate. Alternatively, carry out creative work related to the subject, or complete an internship and submit a report.
- Quiz
- An online quiz at the end of every class through the Learning Management System. The average of the daily quizzes is taken as the mark.
- Skill assessment (redemption ratio)
- Points earned on the skill assessment portal are redeemed against internal marks, on the announced redemption ratio, in two rounds.

- First redemption
- Redeem skill points for up to 10 internal marks per subject, across applicable subjects, on the announced redemption ratio.
- Second redemption
- Redeem skill points for the remaining 10 internal marks per subject, on the announced redemption ratio.
