Scheme objectives
The objectives set out for the Star College Scheme at Rathinam.
- To enhance the current practical courses.
- To upgrade laboratory infrastructure by providing multiple pieces of equipment for various experiments.
- To provide students with knowledge through interdisciplinary learning, hands-on training, and summer internships.
- To offer students exposure to both basic and advanced research in their fields, with organized institutional visits to help them choose their future academic path.
- To conduct faculty development programs to update knowledge on the latest developments in their research areas.
- To expand centralized instrumentation facilities and encourage interdisciplinary activities among students and faculty.
- To facilitate group projects among students from different science departments and recognize their research addressing societal issues.
- To visit prestigious research laboratories and industries to understand the practical applications of science and ongoing research in emerging fields.
- To strengthen curricula and practical courses by developing e-contents, laboratory manuals, and SOPs for specific instruments and experiments.
- To enhance library facilities to support self-learning and improve knowledge for both students and teachers through increased access to books.
